Dylan | Class of 2019 | San Luis Obispo High School | High School Portrait Photographer

OMG! I had a blast with Dylan! I expected him to be a great senior portrait model, but he exceeded my expectations.

Dylan was calm, cool and collected for his session. I gave him very little direction and these amazing photos came to light. I asked him if he had modeled in the past, and he hadn’t. Okay #modelingagency, sign him!

Some of the things we talked about were his goals after high school. One of his goals is to work with animals. He has the temperament and positivity that animals will trust quickly.

Best of luck with your senior year!

Andrew | San Luis Obispo High School | Class of 2018 | High School Senior Photographer

The session starts out by not finding each other in our local park. Andrew was the FIRST client that arrived at the venue BEFORE I did!…and I’m prompt! The park that I chose is a beautiful park with lots of green grass, a large lake, dog park, and aggressive ducks near the lake wanting to be fed.

Andrew was a true joy. His choice of fun, cool and retro outfits matched his personality. Seeing the true beauty in each of my clients in their own way, energizes me at every session. He needed very little direction and showed off some of his own poses towards the end of the session.

He plans on attending university in CA after High School and studying engineering. After college, Andrew aspires to become a Special Effects engineer. Having worked in Television and Film, I believe he will enjoy his chosen career. I look forward to him earning  his first Academy Award!

Best of luck with Senior year Andrew and please let me know which university you decide.

Couples Session | Katrina & Blake | Palm Springs, CA | Blink Conference 2016

Imagine yourself at a ballroom dance competition. There was an organized chaos between the dance coaches, the dancers, the production team, the judges, etc. I felt this type of tension and excitement at my afternoon couples photo session. Katrina & Blake were our models, but were also photographers presenting at the conference. One of my favorite wedding photographer couples, Amy & Jordan Demos were our mentors for the night and 10-12 eager photogs photographed this beautiful couple before the sun set over the Palm Springs mountains.

Once we found the perfect destination, the couple was ON! Their passion and love for each other was so FIERY. Like a dancer, he was her frame. He held her tight, twirled her, and gently kissed her. You could hear the sighs from the photogs as he whispered sweet nothings in her ear to get her to smile. Their body language and love for each other was infectious. The sun is setting way too fast! I need to shoot more of them! Amy & Jordan offered so many great tips. I was exhausted, but felt like a better photog when the session was over.

If you are a portrait/seniors photographer, I would encourage you to attend the BLINK conference. Attendees received many nuggets of information from successful photographers in their genre, brand and SEO strategists, legal consultants, business coaches, and printing companies to help you become more successful with your businesses.

Just like ballroom dancers who completed their successful performance, the group and models finished their choreographed dance at sunset. Katrina and Blake, thank you for your patience and allowing 10-15 photographers to stick our cameras in your faces! Amy & Jordan, thank you for showing us about the Expo Disc and many other amazing tips. Blink Conference, thank you for creating the wonderful group of creatives to celebrate our work and to honestly practice the community over competition movement.

Charon & Jason | First Wedding Anniversary | Special Events photographer | Renoda Campbell Photography

Charon & Jason were married in Hawaii one year ago. It was their goal to celebrate their first year anniversary at a California beach town. They decided to visit Pismo Beach and explore all that this beautiful town offers! Charon was an amazing researcher and found me on Google. SEO (search engine optimization) works! I had so much fun on this shoot. The love between the two was amazing. I felt like I was part of a novel being the historian to this wonderful love story. We laughed so much! They were so comfortable in front of the camera and so can you! If you are celebrating a special event in the San Luis Obispo county area, let me help you capture those special memories and have a lot of fun while doing it.

Sabrina | Class of 2017 | Arroyo Grande High School | Senior portraits photographer |

Sabrina was special. We didn't know each other at all before we met on the beach. We got to know each other briefly. She talked about her interest in Veterinary medicine, horses, and which universities she wanted to attend...and then BAM! She was on! She was an amazing model. She didn't need much direction and was willing to climb on rocks or whatever was needed to get the shot. And thank you LOW TIDE!!! Although we still got wet, it was minimal. I could tell from her dedication, being a great listener and having a great personality, she will be an awesome Vet! Have a GREAT senior year!

Jose | Class of 2017 | Senior Portraits | San Luis Obispo senior portraits photographer

Jose | Class of 2017

New Tech High School

Every Senior portrait that I take, I have hope for our future. We have smart, funny young people who want to make a difference. I am excited to see Jose go to college and see how he will flourish. He says he wants to study on the Pacific Northwest. Will he go to Oregon, which he wants? go to Washington state or stay in California?

It was fun having Jose bring his baseball mitt to the session to include in his senior portraits. He has played baseball for at least his high school years and probably as a elementary/middle school guy. He says he will not continue baseball through college (we’ll see Mr. Catcher!), but you could tell his love for baseball. They way he held the mitt, I could tell his respect for the game and all that it represents.

Best of luck Jose. Have a great senior year. Let me know which university you choose.

Eddie | Class of 2017 | Senior Portraits | Renoda Campbell Photography

Eddie | Class of 2017

New Tech High School

We all have friends or family members who have children. It's not until those children grow up when you say to  yourself, "Oh my goodness!! You've grown up so fast!" This was the case with Eddie. I have known his family since he was eight (8). He has grown into a great young man. It will be fun to see which colleges he chooses in the Pacific Northwest...yes, mom, he's leaving California! Best of luck with your senior year and with college applications. I look forward to hearing which schools you choose!

Percy | SLOHS Class of 2017

When I photograph guys, I already know it is hit or miss whether they care to be photographed or not. It’s their mom’s who encourage their sons to do the images. Why is that when taking photos with Renoda Campbell Photography is so much fun?? Percy knew he had to have the photos taken, and I am so honored that he chose me.

I talk a lot during the session as usual. Percy told me that he wants to become a pilot. We had a great conversation on the lengths of the runways at the San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles and Santa Maria airports. I am a life-long learner, so enjoyed hearing his excitement as he talked about aviation in between photos.

Best of luck Percy and I look forward to seeing your success.

Student Academic Services EOP Service Awards | San Luis Obispo Event Photographer | Cal Poly

It is an honor every year to photograph the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP) Service Awards. There usually isn’t a dry eye in the house after these first generation, low-income graduating students offer their stories of adversity, strength and determination. They offer hope to the other students who are still trying to be successful at Cal Poly. The validate the difficult work that the staff do--working with these students to make sure that they are successful. The administration, faculty, staff and the students are present to cheer on each other and offer love and support as they leave for the workplace. Each graduating senior receives a gold EOP graduation stole that the students wear with pride. As one of the Advisors for these students, I was also fortunate enough to offer their graduation stoles to wear at commencement as seen in the last photo. Congratulations Seniors!

Emily, Alpha Chi Omega | Renoda Campbell Photography Senior photographer | Cal Poly

I have known the beautiful Emily since her second year at Cal Poly. She is an amazing leader, has a vivacious personality and is a loyal friend.

She has already received a GREAT job offer after college in the field that she wants!

We met while I was advisor for Sorority/Fraternity Life  at Cal Poly and she served on the Panhellenic Board. Serving as Panhellenic Advisor was one of my favorite positions at Cal Poly. I had the opportunity to work with young women who worked on improving their leadership and communication skills as well as collaborating with the male fraternities and multicultural greek organizations. It wasn’t easy all of the time, but she managed with grace and calmness. She took all of her positions to the highest degree of professionalism and fun.

Best of luck and love to Emily in all of her future endeavors, congratulations on your graduation and please keep in touch! <3

President’s Diversity Awards | San Luis Obispo Event Photographer | Cal Poly

The Cal Poly President’s Diversity Awards acknowledges faculty, staff, individual students, student clubs and staff/faculty organizations at Cal Poly who are attempting to make the university a more diverse and inclusive environment.

It was a packed house at the Kennedy Library Atrium to celebrate those individuals. Individuals came from all over our large campus to celebrate. There were over 80 applications of well-earned Cal Poly members seeking acknowledgement this year. This was the largest number of submissions in its history. I feel honored to attend. I was fortunate enough to be recognized as the Outstanding staff member in 2015.

Everyone who received an award were surprised and honored. Congratulations awardees.

Black Student Union “Decades” Fashion Show | San Luis Obispo Event Photographer | Cal Poly

The Cal Poly Black Student Union team worked very hard to make their May 2016 fashion show a success. The theme was “Decades”. There was a combination of music videos and fashion for every era: African cultural attire, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and current/future fashion. As a San Luis Obispo Events photographer, it was a lot of fun to watch and photograph.

Urban Optics EyeWear donated frames for the various eras.

Once the fashion show ended, there was a performance by BSU dancers and students socialized, asked questions about the fashions and looked at the clothing up close.

All enjoyed the activities and the delicious desserts from SeaBreeze Cupcakes.
